Anti-Violence
Violence is the most basic threat to freedom, whether it is manifested through war, torture, slavery, conscription, oppression, or persecution for religious, political, or social beliefs. We support models and heroes of non-violence, as well as organizations that work to understand the origins and enablers of violence and how violence can be reduced.

ImitatioImitatio promotes mimetic theory and other work of the philosopher René Girard. Mimetic theory describes how imitation drives human behavior, including the formation of desires. Mimetic theory also deploys the behavioral and biological sciences to explain the link between mimesis and violence. Imitatio advances these goals by providing searchable relevant primary texts, offering access to events and mimetic theory scholars, leading discussions about current research, and promoting research opportunities and fellowships.Read more about Imitatio |
